Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Bach's Violin Concerto - Sat 7 Nov, Cardiff
Mozart – Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
Bach – Violin Concerto in E Major
Vivaldi – The Four Seasons
The programme showcases some of the most iconic works ever written for strings. We open with Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik, originally written as light outdoor evening entertainment for Vienna’s great and good, in a world where social occasions called for music that was both refined and instantly engaging. This is followed by Bach’s Violin Concerto in E Major - a joyful and uplifting masterpiece, balancing dazzling technical flair with moments of serene beauty.
The evening culminates in one of the greatest masterpieces of all time — The Four Seasons. From the freshness of spring to the icy bite of winter, Vivaldi’s vivid depictions of nature remain as captivating today as they were 300 years ago.
